How are your fees structured?

Fees are most commonly paid by the seller through a conjunctional broker agreement. Should the broker not wish to engage in a conjunctional arrangement, we will charge you a fee based on a percentage of the purchase price. This will all be discussed and approved in writing prior, to ensure there are no surprises.

Absolutely, there is no additional cost for our time, however, you’ll be responsible for travel expenses.

No, it’s not compulsory. You can literally pay cash for a boat and drive it away immediately if you wish. However, we wouldn’t recommend it. Whilst as the buyer, it is an additional expense having a boat lifted, it is highly recommended. Finding osmosis, or extensive hull damage could save you hundreds of thousands of dollars down the track.

Most commonly 4 to 8 weeks depending on the type and location of the vessel. If we were able to secure contractors and a lift and hold, it is possible to complete a purchase within a week, including due diligence. However, our recommendation is to take a little more time and not rush things to ensure stellar result.

It is common for the survey to reveal unknown issues. They can range from being insignificant, right through to major problems. Looking over a survey report isn’t a time to be rushed or emotional. It’s all about getting a clear understanding of the current condition of the vessel and establishing a plan for moving forward. If the survey reveals unknown issues, it’s common for the purchaser to request the purchase price to be discounted in line with the cost involved for rectifying the issues. There is also the possibility to withdraw from the sale after a survey, based on the terms within the sales agreement.
